Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions about the station.

Q: Why am I not receiving a signal for 97.3 The Bay?

A: There are a number of things that could be preventing you from getting a proper signal:

1) Your radio may be switched to OFF, as opposed to ON.  This will inhibit your radio from receiving the electrical current required to function properly.

2) Your volume may be set too low for your ears to perceive the sound being emitted.  Turn the volume dial to a level at which you can perceive the sound.  Alternatively, your radio may have volume buttons as opposed to a knob.  One will be labelled "Up" (+) and one will be labelled "Down" (-).  These function similarly to a knob.

3) You may not live within a reasonable distance of the King's campus.  If you live in Alex Hall, for example, you should receive a clear signal.  If you live in Toronto, for example, you will likely not.

4) Your radio may be on the floor instead of at a reasonable height to receive a signal.  If this is the case, please invest in a table or other piece of furniture conducive to placing the radio at a reasonable operating height.

5) You may be attempting to listen to The Bay without owning a radio.  This is unfortunately impossible, and you will be required to either buy a radio or steal one from a roommate in order to tune in.

6) You may be Dr. Daniel Brandes, in which case your extreme intelligence may be interfering with the radio waves around you.  If this is the case, please follow this link to make a tinfoil hat which should be worn when attempting to listen to The Bay.  Alternatively, focus very hard on counting to ten repeatedly in an attempt to hold back your genius.
